Multiple initiatives will reach MassHealth members throughout
Southeastern MA and Cape Cod
QUINCY, MA –South Shore Mental Health (SSMH) has been selected for contract negotiation to participate in the state’s innovative and comprehensive reform of MassHealth, the Commonwealth’s Medicaid program.
SSMH plans to participate in MassHealth’s new Accountable Care Organization (ACO) program through two “Community Partner” organizations, which will partner with ACOs to integrate care and improve health outcomes for MassHealth members with complex long-term medical and/or behavioral health needs.
SSMH has teamed with addiction services specialist Gosnold on Cape Cod to form the Southeast Community Partnership (SCP), which will coordinate care for MassHealth members with serious behavioral health challenges and conditions in southeastern Massachusetts and the Cape. SCP will collaborate with Family Continuity, a leading provider of community-based behavioral health services in eastern and central Massachusetts.
In addition, SSMH has been chosen to partner with Spectrum Health Systems, a leader in providing a continuum of addiction services across Massachusetts, to coordinate care for MassHealth members from Dedham to Quincy and along the South Shore.
“These selections by MassHealth recognize the long-term commitment to Massachusetts, and the pioneering work in behavioral health services, of South Shore Mental Health and its partners,” said Antony Sheehan, President and CEO of South Shore Mental Health. “We look forward to working with our provider partners, MassHealth, ACOs and other clinical health partners to help lead an evolution in Massachusetts that will improve the health and lives of our most disadvantaged friends, neighbors and fellow citizens.”
“Our selection as a Community Partner affirms Gosnold’s long-time and enduring commitment to helping society’s most vulnerable,” said Richard Curcuru, President and CEO of Gosnold on Cape Cod. “We look forward to our involvement with the Southeast Community Partnership and our colleagues at South Shore Mental Health and Family Continuity, as well as stakeholders across the Commonwealth’s southeast region.”
“Family Continuity is pleased to be a part of the Southeast Community Partnership,” said Barbara Wilson, CEO of Family Continuity. “We look forward to working with Accountable Care Organizations in Massachusetts to provide high quality care coordination services to MassHealth members through our well-established community networks.”
“Spectrum Health Systems is excited to partner with such a high-quality provider as South Shore Mental Health to address the needs of our most vulnerable citizens, in the Dedham, Quincy, and South Shore areas, with a new and innovative delivery system for behavioral healthcare,” said Kurt Isaacson, President and CEO of Spectrum Health Systems.
