In-Home Therapy and Therapeutic Mentoring
Based out of South Shore Mental Health’s offices in Quincy and Plymouth, the IHT team includes master’s level clinicians and therapeutic training and support staff who work closely with families in their homes to strengthen parenting skills, promote effective communication, and achieve safety and stability.
Home visits are made between 8:00 AM and 8:00 PM seven days a week, with on-call support available 24 hours a day. Services are provided in Boston, New Bedford, Brockton, Quincy, Plymouth, and other South Shore communities. The IHT team also connects clients and their families to outside community support services, as well as academic, medical, and behavioral healthcare resources.
Therapeutic Mentoring, also a Children’s Behavioral Health Initiative, is available to MassHealth clients age 20 and under who are referred by a CBHI-based service or other provider. Located in one of our Quincy locations and structured to complement ongoing therapy, Therapeutic Mentoring offers clients the opportunity to improve interpersonal communication skills, build relationships, and practice what they have learned during their coinciding outpatient or in-home therapy.
During Therapeutic Mentoring, skill building and appropriate behavior are facilitated by the South Shore Mental Health team. Working one-on-one with clients, our mentors assist as they learn to navigate daily life, solve common problems, and resolve conflict during specialized recreational and social activities.
