Internship Program*

The goal of South Shore Mental Health's Clinical Internship Program is to prepare psychology and social work students for careers in clinical practice with an emphasis on community-based mental health programs. The training faculty is made up of psychologists, social workers, nurses, and psychiatrists from South Shore Mental Health and our allied training sites. Our staff teaches through seminars and direct supervision. Professionally renown consultants from the Metropolitan Boston area add special expertise to the training program.

We train approximately 20 graduate students in the disciplines of psychology and social work and interns may elect to major in the child or adult track. Other rotations may be available. At present we offer training for social work and psychology pre-doctoral interns. If you are a social work student, contact your school placement office to see if there is an existing training relationship.
