Counseling and Evaluation South Shore Mental Health provides a wide array of counseling and evaluation services to adults, children and their families. Services are offered at a variety of locations throughout the South Shore, Southeastern Massachusetts, and Cape Cod. We are in schools, homes, offices, hospitals, and other settings working to build a healthy and positive environment. Bayview
Associates Evaluation and Counseling Bayview Associates offers assessment and counseling to individuals, couples, children, and families. Our multi-disciplinary team of social workers, counselors, nurses, psychologists, and psychiatrists specialize in treating anxiety, depression, marital problems, trauma, grieving, and other difficulties that interfere with everyday life and work. Our child and family therapists understand the unique problems confronting children and adolescents ages three to nineteen years old. These include behavioral problems, family conflict, school adjustment difficulties, attention deficit disorder, divorce and separation, depression, pervasive developmental disorders, and grieving and loss. Our professionals work closely with individuals in the community who play an important role in young peoples lives including teachers, guidance counselors, physicians, and special needs directors. Neuropsychological assessment, psychological and cognitive testing, and medication is provided to individuals when necessary. Treatment is goal-oriented and often short-term, but flexible to meet each clients needs. Our therapists work closely with other community programs to enhance each individuals ability to function independently in the community. Asian
Community Counseling Asian Community Counseling Services provides individual and family counseling, addiction recovery, and specialized groups for Asian and Asian-American clients, and their families. We also offer early intervention services and school consultations for children. Our team is culturally and linguistically equipped to facilitate the treatment needs for Chinese and ethnic-Chinese clients. Psychiatric consultation and evaluation are also available when necessary. Growth Program Family Growth is an intensive intervention program which helps families cope with stress, develop practical problem solving skills, connect with community resources, and strengthen family relationships. Families often face a multitude of problems, including, among others, recovery from alcohol or drug abuse, family violence, psychiatric illness, or school difficulties. Families are referred to the Family Growth Program by the Department of Social Services. Trauma Recovery Team The Trauma Recovery Team provides trauma evaluation and treatment for children and their families. Team members specialize in issues of trauma symptom diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents who have experienced sexual, physical and/or emotional abuse. They provide other specialized evaluations including parental fitness evaluations, domestic violence risk assessments, and psychological testing. The Trauma Recovery Team provides consultation on these issues to other child service programs throughout South Shore Mental Health and the community. Families are referred to the Trauma Recovery Team by the Department of Social Services. School
Services South Shore Mental Health works with a number of school systems providing consultation to teachers and administrators to assist in identifying students with emotional and developmental difficulties. Our therapists also provide individual and group treatment for children on site at various schools as well as group seminars for school staff. Community
Consultation Program The Community Consultation Program offers a variety of informative and educational services for parent groups, school personnel, and others who work with youth in the community. Our goal is to provide information that will assist in identifying at-risk youth, making appropriate referrals for help, and integrating children and adolescents with emotional and mental health problems into natural community settings. All activities are offered free of charge, funded through a contract with the Department of Mental Health. Community Outreach Services are provided for individuals and families experiencing emotional difficulties who, for one reason or another, cannot come to an outpatient office. Services are provided in homes, schools, residences, homeless shelters, and community settings. Team members help clients build community and family support along with teaching the skills needed to thrive in the community.
Metro
Suburban Outreach Services Metro-Suburban Outreach Services provide a comprehensive approach to client and family centered support and treatment. Services are centered in the client or family's home by a team of professionals and family support staff. Services will also be provided in shelters, schools, and in alternative settings in order to assist with transition and permanency. The home-based outreach team services will vary in intensity and emphasis based on each family's identified needs and circumstances.
Community Outpatient Services (COS) helps adults with major mental illness live independent and productive lives while remaining in the community. Many clients in the program have been previously hospitalized or are at risk of hospitalization. They suffer from a number of conditions including, but not limited to, severe depression, schizophrenia, personality disorders, and panic disorders. The staff provides individual, couples, family and group therapy, medication services, and support services. Medication clinics are also available. COS employs a multi-disciplinary staff of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and clinical nurse specialists.
Developmental
Disabilities Clinical Team The Developmental Disabilities Clinical Team provides services to a wide range of individuals of all ages with developmental disabilities, and their families. Services include individual and group therapy, consultation, psychological testing and evaluation, and case management. The staff also offers consultation to families, educators, and to the professionals who live or work with these individuals. The staff is expert in treating individuals with additional behavioral and psychiatric issues as well.
Employee
Assistance Program SSMH provides Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to businesses throughout the New England area. These programs are individually designed to assist businesses in managing their health care costs through the early identification and treatment of troubled employees. Our EAP offers training seminars and consultation to managers, and health promotion / illness prevention seminars for employees. Short-term counseling and crisis intervention services are also provided by EAP through Bayview Associates. |
