South Shore Mental Health Center, Inc. (SSMH) began offering services in 1926 as a small children’s guidance center serving the town of Quincy, Massachusetts. Today, our staff of over 700 clinicians and professionals provides services to over 16,000 clients a year. South Shore Mental Health has become an area leader in providing a full-spectrum of behavioral health services to children and families residing from Boston to Cape Cod. SSMH maintains five outpatient clinics, residential programs, and provides services in homes, schools, childcare centers, and other community settings.
With over 80 years of experience in Quincy and the surrounding area, SSMH has been able to develop a menu of services that adequately address the specific needs of our diverse client population. We develop programs that provide children and families access to an integrated network of effective and efficient wraparound mental health and educational services that promote client rights, responsibilities, recovery, and rehabilitation. The system of care is comprehensive, individualized, coordinated, culturally competent, and involves families as full partners.
